WELCOME TO CASP 2022 ISTANBUL

Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the CASP 2022 Istanbul 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel to be held in Istanbul, Turkey on 25-27 May 2022.

According to the estimated global cost of corrosion is about US$ 2.5 trillion in accordance with the "International Measures of Prevention, Application and Economics of Corrosion Technology (IMPACT)" study released by NACE in 2016. This cost is equivalent to roughly 3.4 percent of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The biggest portion of which is stemmed from the corrosion of steel. Therefore, TUCSA has decided to organise this biennial conferences in coordination with ECCS in Istanbul every odd years.

The conference will cover all aspects of corrosion science and engineering as well as steel and other relevant material protection with world-wide reach. Main topics will include the advances in corrosion prevention, corrosion monitoring, corrosion resistant materials, surface treatment and coatings, inspection and non-destructive testing, electrochemical methods, analytical techniques and microscopy, corrosion inhibitors and others.

With the expected attendance, the conference will be a very effective networking opportunity for scientists, academics, students and representatives of research institutions and industry in an existing professional setting and atmosphere. The scientific programme will consist of plenary lectures by world-renowned corrosion and surface protection specialists. Plenary and parallel sessions on a variety of topics will offer specialists on corrosion and surface protection from all over the world the opportunity to meet and present their research.

All accompanying events including welcome party, poster party, lunches and coffee breaks will be provided free of charge.

In May 2022, Istanbul will become the capital of corrosion, where will be very attractive for visitors as a Mediterranean costal city, a peaceful and sunny tourism centre.

We sincerely hope you will join us on 25-27 May 2022 in Istanbul which will be the second one of the International Conference and Exhibition on Corrosion and Surface Protection for Steel.

We sincerely hope you will join us on 25-27 May 2022 in Istanbul.
